The Assistant Director of Hotel Services supports the Director of Hotel Services in the day-to-day operations of the department. In the absence of the Director of Hotel Services, this role assumes full operational and administrative responsibility to ensure that the Housekeeping, Laundry, Valet, and Uniform departments consistently deliver the highest standards of product quality, physical environment, and service excellence. The position is responsible for maintaining superior standards of cleanliness and presentation across all guest, public, and staff areas.
- Assist the Director of Hotel Services with departmental budget.
- Manage the departmental budget/expenses.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and motivation of team members.
- Support disciplinary processes in accordance with company policies and labor regulations.
- Monitor daily staffing assignments to ensure productivity targets and service standards are achieved.
- Ensure all daily and monthly payroll reports, attendance records, and sign-in sheets are accurately completed and submitted on time.
- Requisition guest supplies weekly from storerooms based on occupancy forecasts, following established requisition procedures.
- Monitor and control the requisition and usage of office, cleaning, and operational supplies.
- Conduct regular inspections of public areas and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and brand standards are upheld.
- Participate in cost control initiatives related to labor, inventories, supplies, utilities, and energy consumption.
- Maintain effective and professional working relationships with all department and division heads.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the PMS , particularly those related to Housekeeping operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Guest Room General Cleaning and Preventive Maintenance Programs.
- Assist in planning and conducting monthly departmental meetings.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
