What can resorts do to fight corona?

Ho Tram, 20 February 2020 – Tourism is one of Vietnam’s key economic sectors, comprising over around seven percent of the nation’s GDP in 2019 and contributing over $ 31 billion to the country’s economy in 2019. However, the coronavirus pandemic (nCoV) has hit the industry hard in the first two months of this year.  The entire tourism sector has been impacted by cancelations from both foreign and domestic travelers, with airlines feeling the pinch hardest, with reports of the sector losses in the hundreds-of-millions of dollars.

Thankfully for guests looking to still enjoy a vacation, but reticent to step on to a flight, the five-star The Grand Ho Tram Resort & Casino, just a two hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, is leading the way in taking measures to protect the health and wellbeing of travelers - as well as its own team - heading to the nation’s top entertainment getaway.

Mr. Eddie Yago, The Grand Ho Tram’s Senior Vice President of Resort Operations said: “The novel coronavirus has impacted economies of the world, and unfortunately Vietnam is no exception.”

“While 2019 set new records for both international and domestic travel, Corona has put the brakes on travel intentions for trips around the region.  Still, demand for a getaway still remains, and so the team at The Grand has set itself the target of leading the industry when it comes to guest safety.”

“We understand the concerns of the traveling public and have actively deployed measures to prevent the spread of infection to guests and employees alike, from the very first days of the epidemic.”

These measures include:

Temperature checks at key locations

All guests will have their temperature checked upon boarding the shuttle bus to The Grand Ho Tram Resort & Casino. This helps people feel safe with both their own health and that of their fellow guests. Should any suspicious cases be noted, The Grand has a 24 hour clinic on its site to attend to any guests with any such issues.

In addition to the checks, guests are given face masks at check-in and encouraged to use hand sanitizers.

Constant disinfected cleaning

The Grand Ho Tram Resort & Casino has drastically increased the number of its housekeeping team on duty across the day. This team has been tasked with cleaning and disinfecting all areas frequently touched by guests. Housekeeping is disinfecting all such areas in the resort every two hours, with particular attention paid to door handles, elevator buttons, stair rails, and phones (in-room).

Eat more vegetables

Guests staying at The Grand Ho Tram Resort & Casino will have the opportunity to enjoy immunity-boosting dishes from different cuisines at the resort’s 13 restaurants and bars.

The Grand’s chefs have offered various recommendations from around the resorts to guests to bolster their immune systems at this time.  Some of the recommendations include organic tomatoes, Burrata cheese, Italian olive oil, and the spinach salad at Grand Bistro; or the stewed eggplant with mushrooms and bean curd at Ju Bao Xuan restaurant, as well as the wide variety of fruit juices on the menus at all of the resort's restaurants.

Exercising more

Similarly, the link between moderate exercise and your body’s natural infection defense is well established.  Regular exercise helps the body excrete toxins and bolster the immune system. In addition to our fully equipped gym and various pools, don’t miss the chance to get out and play our world-class golf course.  The 6,855-meter Bluffs Ho Tram is not only great exercise but is also Vietnam’s most acclaimed golfing experience.

With the Play & Stay promotion package, tourists will enjoy one round at The Bluffs and one-night Golf View room at The Grand Golf View, for only VND 3,486,000 ++/guest/night. The promotion applies from now until the end of March 2020.
