Job Description

Position Summary

A Public Area Supervisor for The Grand Ho Tram Strip property is responsible for assisting in creating an uncompromised level of cleanliness throughout the property.  This position will support the Housekeeping staff in operational standards to exceed the guest’s expectations and provide service that sets the example for the luxury market. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures, as well as within the framework and intent of the Vision of The Grand Ho Tram Strip property.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects public areas to ensure the highest cleaning standards are met.
  • Assist in controlling departmental costs including labor regarding cleaning supplies, yet ensuring services rendered to the guests are of the highest standards.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records on cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Aid in maintaining unparalleled cleaning and preventative maintenance programs to enhance appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Help with the cleaning program to ensure top quality standards in training, performance, procedures, and productivity pertaining to all public and private guest areas. 
  • Oversee storage areas and ensure they are always stocked, clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that areas of responsibility are running efficient and effective at all times.  Proper utilization of resources is a must.
  • Administer inspection of the facility, services and equipment in the responsible areas to make sure they are uncompromised. 
  • Ensures all activities performed within the departments are in accordance with the company’s business objectives, and established safety and security standards.
  • Helps train, motivate, and provide regular communication to the team to deliver top service with unmatched professionalism while fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Promotes a positive work environment that stimulates and motivates employees to acceptable levels of turnover, absenteeism, and promotions. 
  • Communicates with partnering departments and peers to achieve superior customer satisfaction and efficient utilization of manpower and facilities. 
  • Maintains close work relationships with other departments and their leaders to promote feedback, cross training and efficient operations. 
  • Ensures all activities performed within the department are in accordance with the company’s business objectives, and established safety and security standards.
  • Keeps leadership informed on a timely basis of any undue variance from expected results.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

Job Requirement

  • One – Two years experience working required.
  • One year department experience preferred.
  • College degree is required and Higher Education is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge required.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in the primary language of the workplace both verbally and nonverbally.  Fluent in English is encouraged.
  • Solid and professional communication skills, both oral and written desired.
  • Organized, can multi-task, good problem solving skills and detail-oriented.
  • Capacity to foster productive relations with peers and assure teamwork is the prevailing way to do business.
  • Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift when required. 
  • Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of chemical and cleaning supplies and techniques/equipment.
