Job Description
- Conduct planning audits and evaluating risks.
- Developing audit programs and checklists.
- Compare elements of the Minimum Internal Control System with the regulatory requirements.
- Manage the performance of independent audits in accordance with departmental and professional standards.
- Evaluate compliance with applicable gaming laws, AML internal controls and applicable laws and rules and regulations, company/department policies and procedures any other regulatory requirements and best practices to learn skills at all Company business segments.
- Identify and research internal control issues and suggest recommendations for improvement.
- Analyze complex procedures, transactions and data.
- Observe transactions and activities and interview gaming operation personnel.
- Review and test documentation as required.
- Document work performed and instances of non-compliance through standard (electronic) work paper practice.
- Prepare audit findings to assist in the preparation of draft reports.
- Perform follow-ups on responses to audit findings.
- Attend audit trainings as required to learn audit skills and practices.
- Oversee hiring, and training when necessary, all hotel audit employees to ensure strong internal control environment.
- Conduct audits of Hotel accounts; conduct periodic hotel division audits.
Job Requirement
- Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Very well organized, computer literate, and detail-oriented.
- Superior interpersonal skills with focused attention to client needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Strong leadership skills, prioritization skills, time management skills and attention to detail skills are required.
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to the Company’s appearance standards.
- Maintain consistent adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct and the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Code of Ethics.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- CPA or equivalent qualification required. Big Four public accounting experience desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/ auditing in a highly regulated gaming environment.
- Thorough knowledge of internal audit management requirements as well as for the Management Company and Hotel Owners is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and other key gaming and financial systems.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to review audit files and provide appropriate feedback to auditors.
- High level of commitment and ability to cope with complexity and change.
- Physical ability to access all areas of the property.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with clients, management, employees, and outside contacts. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
